It was fun and within my budget on a last minute booking. Friendly staff and safe place to stay. I would return should I ever go to Cancun, Mexico.

The tiny private room -- Slytherin -- is listed several times as being tiny on the HostelWorld website and even appears on the registration page. We compare it to a compartment on a train. We do our best to inform all potential guests that the room is very, very small, but it appears that many guests don't bother to read any description before booking nor even their reservation confirmation. There's absolutely nothing more we can do. Hide Owner CommentsRead Owner Comments Guilherme, from Brazil ~ Jan 3 2009

I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this one wasn't good. No 24-hour hot water - lucky if it was 3 1/2 minutes each time I showered. One day there was no water at all - it stopped in the middle of my shower. The toilets barely flush (and quite a few times, didn't at all) and bathrooms were dirty and smelled. The basic upkeep needed was not present. I had to empty the trash in the common areas because no one else did. Linens only include sheets and the tv can never be watched because the wo
These comments simply make no sense. The Nest has hot water 24 hours a day. Occasionally in Cancun there are power outages and water will not flow, so that is possible -- at the Nest and everywhere else in Mexico. The toilets are in perfect working order, thank you, and flush normally. The bathrooms are cleaned a minimum of twice a day. There are thermostat controls on the airconditioners. One of the receptionists, who is eight months pregant, reclines on the couch frequently, but she will always and cheerfully relinish the tv control to any guests who wants to watch tv. We thank the guest for emptying the trash in the common areas -- but doubt it since the rubbish is taken out regularly as often as it needs to be. Wonder where the guest took the trash, since the dumpster for the Nest is quite a ways away? Breakfast consists of bread, sweet rolls or donuts, fresh fruit, jam, butter, coffee and tea. Always. The clothes-washer is in fact quite slow by American or European standards -- that's why the staff does it instead of wasting the guest's time. We're very sorry the guest had an unpleasant stay, but in actuality these comments seem not just unlikely but in fact quite impossible.
