Location is a bit far from the main beach and downtown. Better catch the bus. Staff was friendly. Dorms were clean but bathroom facilities could have been cleaner. Although, good value for your money, especially if you are travelling by yourself.

Really nice rooms, like appartments, with a couch, kitchen, ect. Fort Auderdale sucks though, there is nothing to do. You are stuck in the hostel and the public transit is terrible. I would recommend going to another beach like Miami Beach, were there is a little more to do. Really small place, but has a pool, would recommend if you NEED to stay in Fort Lauderdale

2 blocks to the beach Oakland Blvd. 1.5 miles to main Ft. Lauderdale part of the Beach. Formerly a motel and or sections may have been apartments. Doors for many rooms open right onto the street, not a totally enclosed compound. But the area felt safe from a guy's perspective. Trade off was each room had its OWN kitchen and common room and separate bedroom w/ bunks. Will likely stay here again.

DO NOT STAY HERE. First, this hostel is in the middle of nowhere. Second, it is populated by many long term guests, some are homeless drug addicts, who act like they own the place and will make your stay hell. Third, the staff are terrible - They ran out of beds on my last night (one of the rooms got bed bugs), took my bed away, and acted so arrogant like they were doing me a favor, saving me from the bugs. Don't listen to the positive review in Lonely Planet. The exact opposite is true.
