Love this hostel so much. Great view and location. Hostel is a bit far away from city centre but not a problem for me coz I got a car to travel around. Love it so much!!!

All in all propably the best hostel i have ever stayed in. Only downside was it's location: pretty far away from the centre. On the other hand the view was amazing!

We really enjoyed our time at the Globetrotter! It had great atmosphere and wonderful features like the movie room and bar area. A little far out of town but there is a shuttle and a city bus that stops across the street. Staff is helpful and it is a very fun place to stay.

The staff were really helpful, the view of the sea is beautiful, and the rooms were really clean by hostel standards. The bar also seemed really cool along with the tv rooms and computer room, but we were only there for 2 nights and didn't have time to need any of that.

In its defence its in a beautiful location, right on the water and in a pretty secluded area. Breakfast is small but fine, cereal and a bit of toast w butter. There's a big kitchen, hot showers, bar, etc. The only downfall really is the whole high-school groove they've got going on, feels a bit like you're one of the kids, and the fact the place is over-run by hens/bucks nights on the weekends. Above average for the UK though its got nothing on anything over in the eastern EU.

Too far away from the city - shuttle buses good but too infrequent if you only have a short amount of time in Edinburgh.

the dishwasher stinks...there is a very ugly smell in the plates & other utencils (like blood)... Please change the soap and put in place nice fragrance... Secondly, there should be a kitchen on the ensuite floor... Thats quite a headache to come down to the ground floor just to toast a bread.Otherwise all perfect especially the location!

for a youth , globetrotters had an excellent setup. we loved our time very, its way out of the city, but thats the charm. you really see a side of edinburgh and a day bus travel pass cost 2.5 pounds, and the bus stoop is across the road. i highly recommend globetrotters.

the beamer was broken. breakfast was too little. tables in the dining room were always sticky. no table and no chairs in the bedrooms. No plugs in the bedrooms for charging photo batteries etc.
