10 bed dorm next to the kitchen can be a noisy spot but we slept through the chatter otherwise the hostel is very quiet. For part of our stay, we paid for a 10 bed dorm but were "upgraded" for free to a 6 bed dorm and had the room to ourselves. Breakfast was toast, jam, and cereal. Our last day in Madrid, one of us who had been battling a bad stomach bug felt like he was going to pass out. One of the hostel staff walked us to the hospital and stayed w/ us the whole time and translated. Alain, from USA ~ 7th Mar 2012

This is not a bad place to stay if you are only sleeping there, which I did. It has a good location within walking distance of all the major attractions. However it was not the cleanest of places, there were odd smells most of the time and some of the showers had no hot water and very little water pressure. A decent hostel overall Matthew, from USA ~ 12th Apr 2012

Good, clean, fairly quiet hostel - bit further from the main areas of Madrid, but wasn't too long a walk to Sol.Definitely take part in the activities offered - the walking tour with Harriet was fantastic, as was the tapas tour with John!Didn't get to the other activities but I'm sure they're just as good :) Jillian, from Canada ~ 30th Jan 2012

The front door wasnt always locked and we didnt have to show id to anyone we didnt know the baggage room was on the 2nd floor and anyone could get the key and go in by themselves The staff didnt try to get to know us or ask if we didnt help The 4 bedroom was very small and no room for baggage The shared bathroom had a window looking in from the hall way into the shower with no curton and the shower water got every where in the bathroom due to no shower head hook Heather, from Canada ~ 1st Feb 2012

Living roof was a great hostel. Good neighborhood.Nice staff. Friendly people.North west of the main tourist action in the artists area. I'd stay there again without any qualms. sola, from USA ~ 5th Dec 2011

We loved it!This place was great.Only complaints, some of the organized trips were a bit disorganized, but that's not really too big of a deal and the other is that if you were the last one to grab the shower, it wasn't likely that you would have hot water. The type of people here are fantastic though, young, fun, and adventurous! Very comfortable and affordable hostel. Great neighborhood full of fun and cool bars. The rooms were cleaned everyday and they even gave us new sheets still in their packaging! Only one bathroom per floor and i was staying next to it so it was kinda loud. One of the days I was there, the bathroom ceiling was leaking water. It seemed like a pipe burst but they got it fixed pretty quickly. Also there was absolutely no hot water in our shower. I usually opted out of the breakfast and went aroun Hallie, from USA ~ 5th Nov 2011
