The staff is its best asset---friendly, helpful, patient, multi-cultural (a Chinese elevator attendant, Malay front desk manager), smiling. The cleanliness is what also clinched the deal. Fresh linens, spotless bathrooms, immaculate carpeting. If only the rest of Singapore hostels were like this...
My recent stay at the New 7th Storey Hotel, 229 Rocher Road, Singapore, will NOT be my last, and I have recommended them many times.

I arrived early in the morning and couldn't check, but they gave me a towel and let me have a wash, very nice after a long flight. Lift guy was a bit a control freak about the lift. Customer service is good. Very close to Bugis station which is on the same line as changi airport, so easy to get to after a long flight. Close enough to walk to most things. Room was always cleaned daily, but there was only one girls shower on my floor.
