I had such a great time! I felt well taken care of, and that is much appreciated.

Nice place close to local shops for all your needs. Really comfortable beds. Would have been great if the person next door had some respect for others and kept the noise down at night! What a tw@t.

The hostel suggests people don't wear ther shoes inside. As a result when we were there we found we could not use the TV room, lounge with the awful smell of feet /socks coming from the room. Not sure their policy is practical....

Wow- I'd just like to say that this is the best hostel I've stayed in! I don't think there's really anything they could improve, it was really clean and the staff were friendly. They even left home-made freshly baked bread in the kitchen every morning! Thank's everyone at the Old Countryhouse!

Our double room with ensuite was excellent - clean and comfortable. Fresh bread and kitchen facilities were great too. Location was fine as we didn't mind the 15 minute walk and the local take-away was very cheap. Just wished the staff were a bit more knowledgeable about which city restaurants and pubs were good value

Like being at home, very comfy and cosy! Quiet and mellow, relaxing. Bit of a walk into town, but hey you need the exercise!

By far the best hostel we stayed in, and that's in the whole of NZ. Nothing like a hostel at all, more a very comfy cosy home, and well worth the 20 out of 10 we feel it deserves. No hesitation recommending it to anyone, what ever age group

The best location and place as just a little further from town then others but was a warm friendly place that makes you feel at home, and the facilities were top!

This hostel was one of the best we have stayed in, its a bit like a hotel just more welcoming. Only down point is they advertise an airport pickup on hostels.com, but you have to get the shuttel. Otherwise great.
