  • Lucky to have a quiet corner bottom bed. Centrally located for my walk arounds. B'fast could use some O'juice and cereal, but its ok. Lucky to have lovely Rachel and Astrid helping with details. Made some good friends (Helen was best) and all and all nothing to complain, but then again I'm one of the most blessed people in the planet. Thanks Palace.

  • I think the hostel itself is pretty run down. The rooms are super cramped and the building in general could use a face lift. However, Shannon, Chris and Astrid (the hostel people managing the place) are a fun crowd and cool people to be around who can give you great tips on places to go and will have you laughing your ass off the entire time, especially Shannon, she's a character. However, I don't know if you will see her because she will be moving from the hostel. Overall, great experience!

  • Shannon, Chris, Jeff were super-helpful and very flexible. I met a few amazing people during my 4 days of stay there. Metro Taxi is conveniently located next to the hostel. An ATM is within walking distance. The rustic and homely feel of the hostel was very endearing. All in all a great experience.

  • The atmosphere was really good here; gracious hosts, easy cab ride from the airport. Definitely the best place to stay if you're intending to hit the Condado / Isla Verde area - however both require a 20 min walk. There isn't too much immediately near the hostel in that regard. Everyone was super nice and became fast friends.

  • People were inconsiderate of the other guests and it was resolved. The hostel was loud, did not follow late hour rules, staff and guests would stay up very late (1am) talking, listening to music and disturbed the other guests who were trying to sleep.

  • Great hostel! Great people! Loved the staff :) A bunch of very unique, nice and helpful people. Also the crowd that stays in a hostel seemed very hip and fun. It also has balconies to hang out. The only downside is the location - it's too far from the old town to go by foot, but if you have a car - this is the place to stay. I will def come back to Puerto Rico and def stay in this hostel again.

  • I've stayed in many hostels and never given a bad review but this one was the worst. I booked 7 hotel/hostels stays for this last trip so I reviews what was advertised for this booking before giving this review and sure enough this was NOT what I expected given what was advertised. The dormitories were tiny, the free breakfast was bread, maybe some jam and rotting bananas. The bed mattresses and sheets were dusty and stained.

  • This place is excellent, I loved the community vibe. Everyone who worked there or came through its doors immediately became friends and every day I had found a buddy or 4 to do sightseeing with. Super dooper hostel!!

  • They didn't have our reservation when we arrived and they ended up putting my boyfriend and I in the same upper bunk bed instead of giving us the private room we'd reserved. The guy at the front desk was not organized.

  • This surely is place that I enjoyed. It was as described. Though the building is about 100 years old, with that in mind, it could use a bit of tender loving care which the managers, Shannon and Chris are working hard to remedy. I enjoyed the open space of the sitting areas on both floors. The only Hostel that I have stayed at that has a tub in one of the bathrooms of which there are three of them. Two full baths and a half. The free breakfast was adequate to get me started. Great Place to stay.

  • What a great place! My very first hostel experience! I loved it! The Palace is a humble little artsy place, super friendly staff... Shannon, Chris, Nick, Mo, and Megan will make you feel right at home. There are always independent activities going on, and if you don't leave without having met some new friends, it is your own fault! Luv all you guys! Thank you!

  • The Palace was a clean, well-managed place with a super-friendly staff and atmosphere. The manger, Shannon, and staff personnel introduced new guests, took each person on a tour of the facility and helped in lots of little ways to assure a pleasant trip.

  • I loved staying at the Palace Hostel. The people I meet there have become some of my best friends. At night the air conditioning was a god send, the beds were very comfortable, and I felt completely secure there as well as leaving my belongings there while I explored the amazingness that is Puerto Rico.

  • Couldn't ask for much more in a hostel. Air conditioning, wifi, breakfast, comfy bed. Breakfast was just simple peanut butter, jam, bread, and oatmeal, but for such a low price, it's really a luxury. The staff here is AMAZING and I met tons of interesting people visiting PR as well. Especially a great place to stay if you're traveling alone. The facility feels safe and secure, plus it's easy to find people to go out with during the day or evening.

  • Had a wonderful time staying at the Palace Hostel. Super friendly staff, great atmosphere, comfy beds. Tucked away a little bit off the beaten path so if you're looking for the main tourist strip, this isn't it. Palace has everything you need...washer/dryer, full kitchen, etc etc. Definitely a full service hostel. If I ever find myself back in San Juan I will be staying here again.

  • My family,(me, husband, and teenage son and daughter) stayed at the Palace Hostel for 4 nights. It was a great experience!! The staff is absolutely wonderful-extremely friendly, and helpful. They gave us very useful tips on navigating our trip, and finding the best deals. We felt very welcome. The rooms were satisfactory and clean. The bathrooms do need some repairs, especially the showers!! Overall, I would recomend this hostel as a great place to stay in Puerto Rico
