The Prescott International Hotel and Hostel - Hostel |
| While most hostels in the U.S. are converted warehouses that accommodate hundreds of guests in a factory atmosphere, The Prescott International Hostel is a historic old hotel, built in 1895, whose charm lies in its warm, safe, and relaxing ambiance.

I had some trouble finding the place--I missed my bus stop the first time around. (The directions said to take the bus to Church Street, but I'm 95% sure the bus only stopped at Church Street on the way back towards the Orange Line, not on the way out.)
Once I got there, everything was just great.

A bit of our center but well worth the quiet.
I stayed here 2 nights mid-week April which is admittedly slower. Great staff, great fellow travelers and I found the subway/bus ride easy to accommodate and well worth the peace of being able to leave my window open and still have a quiet night.

You have to be a little lighthearted to stay here. It wasn't bad by any means but definitely isn't what most people are use to. It was a little trek from the T but once you learned the routine with the bus it wasn't bad. It was worth a giggle and really was worth the price.

Arriving at the original Prescott Hotel and being driven to a different location was a little disconcerting. More information about the new property on the website would be useful.

This is the best hostels that I have ever been to. It has character, it is super clean, and the staff is nice and extremely helpful. Though it is a little bit outside downtown Boston, it is easily accessible by public transit. The fact that it is a little bit outside the downtown core, gives it a more relaxing vibe after a full day of visiting. I highly recommend this hostel.
Note: When taking the 104 or 109 bus from Sullivan Square station, look for Mansfield St. to get off as oppose to Church St.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable and it was a bit of a trek to get from the hostel to the bus to the subway, but nonetheless, I'm glad I ended up staying there. It's a beautiful old house and the staff was helpful. The free internet and TVs were a plus. Had a lot of hesitations staying there based on other internet reviews, but it was safe and not that bad of a hostel.

Place is great! It's a cool old building and they keep the bathrooms extra clean. The beds were kind of uncomfortable and the weird bald employee with the mustache is a bit creepy and rude. But overall I say the place is excellent...one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in.

We were a group of 22 college students with a few adults. The location was easily accessible to Boston, the staff was very friendly and helpful in every way. We had concerns from some of the reviews that said it was not clean, but our rooms were very clean. It's not the Ritz....some of the blankets had worn places, but they were clean and kept us warm so "no worries" and who could beat the price. The lounge was comfortable and even though there was no coffee etc. on the premises, there were plenty of places nearby. I would be careful walking around the neighborhood very late at night...although from the bus stop to the hostel was on the main drag, so not scary at all. We were very pleased and thank you Chris and Yuxie.

This has got to be the answers to anybody's dream for a home away from home. Knew it soon as I walked in the door. Wonderful place, wonderful staff who are always on hand, bright clean rooms, hallways, great common room, wonderful food five minute walk, maybe they'll adopt me, that's my next dream. Great sleep.
