A fantastic setting, with lots of character, in a beautiful part of Donegal. Great place to bring our children to off season. We had the place to ourselves, and we all relaxed into it, the boys did not want to leave. sleeping in a railway carriage was a real adventure to them, much more exciting than just staying in a bog standard hostel. If you have small kids I would recommend keeping a close eye because of platform drop, other than that, it's absolutely perfect. Great welcome.

wonderful hostel and lovely staff
Our holiday stay at the Railway Carriage was unforgettable. Upon arrival the owner was extremely welcoming and made us feel completely at home. You can read, snuggle by a fire, or play games in the cozy living room. The hostel is located near some of Ireland's most beautiful landscapes: forests, sea cliffs, and mountains. The common area is more reminiscent of a cabin than a hostel, and the small but comfortable rooms are great. If in Ireland, Donegal county nor this hostel are to be missed! We absolutely recommended it!
