All hostels were sold out and this was our last resort. I would probably leave it as a last resort again too.

The lounge downstairs was just as cool as the local bars, the staff was really nice, and the price was just right.

There\'s no shortage of things to do at this hostel.. they have a lot of organised group activities you can opt into. Sure, it is different to other hostels in that it doesn\'t have a lively bar.. it does have a lively courtyard though! The guests at this hostel were actually far louder than those at any other hostels I\'ve been to! There are no room keys, but this wasn\'t a problem as you have to be buzzed into the hostel. The location is the best - just inside the Red Light District and walking distance to Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh museum. It felt like a safe area.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel. The staff were very welcoming and willing to talk. The facilities they had were great (cafe and garden)...we spent several evenings in and really had fun. It lived up to it's name.. it really is a shelter.
