very cosy small hotel, which is in my opinion more looks like mini-hotel than hostel. This was the best hostel in which i have ever stayed.

No internet, no lockers - not really a hostel, no common room either - more like a cheap hotel than a hostel. That said its an excellent location with nice people, a great breakfast and amazing showers. Recommended.

Firstly this place is not a backpackers at all it is a budget priced hotel with shared bathrooms. Everyone else there seemed to be from Russia and there were no other backpackers to meet or boost your numbers while going out to feel safer. St Petersburg was great fun and a lot less stressful and shady than I was expecting. But I booked this place based on the desription offered on hostel world as it was meant to have security lockers and internet access which it didn't have either of at all. That said it is very well located in town.

We booked the hostel through Hostelworld but we later received an email to say there were in fact no vacancies. The hostel then would not refund the deposit we had paid.

The location here was great, just behind Gostinyy Dvor shopping centre, and about 5 minutes walk from the nearest Metro stop and Nevskiyy Prospekt. The security and fun you have kind of depends on who you share a room with- as you share a key between you and have to trust them, which works out better than it sounds. It was more like a hotel than a hostel, with loads of bedrooms and no real communal spaces. Breakfast included was great, and you get unlimited free mineral water in the hostel. Also, you can use the internet in the offices there for free after 19:00. All in all, I think it's great for couples, families or quieter people, but not so great if you want to meet loads of people. I loved it though and would highly recommend it, xXx

They have cameras set up at the entrance door and I did not have any problems with theft at all. No worries here. The room was cleaned daily and the bathrooms and showers were also clean. The best part of the hostel was the small diner/restaurant located inside. The chef was very friendly and easy to get along with. The location of the hostel is right next to some good restaurants that are English-friendly and is also near the historic area of St. Petersburg. With a little walking, you can go anywhere in a short time. There is a metro station very close as well. Overall good value for the price. Problems were they advertised a double-size bed on the website and I was told when I checked in that they did not have those beds, only twin-sized. Also I paid for airport pick-up and drop-off service from the Hostel and this did not happen. I had to get and pay for my own taxi both ways. Last thing was the website advertised internet access but it was only available in the main office and during certain hours. Fortunately there are several internet cafes not too far from the hostel on Nevskiy Prospect with computers to use and wireless access so I got around this.

I would be able to opine better about the hostel, had we actually managed to stay there and not in the apartment they moved us to when they botched up our reservations. Although the hostel seemed decent enough, the staff failed to tell us what the deal was with our double room -they had given it to someone else- for well over 45 minutes (they had us waiting in the reception desk), and finally asked us to come back some hours later, as the room wasn't ready. On our return several hours later (and again after waiting patiently), they let us know we didn't have a room there, but rather in a two-bed flat in Nevsky. Granted: the person who dealt with us in the afternoon was polite enough, and seemed genuinely concerned (booking us and paying for a taxi to move to the new location; allowing us to leave our luggage in the hostel for free the next day; giving us her personal mobile number in case we needed anything at all), but the exchange was not a good deal. And the claims they had been ringing us to inform us of the changes were simply not true.... never mind. The flat was centrally located, but was not of the same standard as the hostel: the piss-soaked entrance looked like the set of the movie Trainspotting... or a Prodigy video. The flat itself was not dirty, but was not worth the 60-odd euros we paid for it. And no breakfast either ;) In all: some nice staff, some incompetent staff. Great location for flat and hostel. Terrible and overpriced flat.
