The staff was nice, the environment was friendly, and the rooms/bathrooms/shower were all clean. I enjoyed my stay.

I very good hostel for the price. Don´t let the location put you off, there is a real community feel that is lacking in other parts of manhatten. all the locals were very friendly and helpful when i was a little lost. Easy to get into town. The hostel wasn´t particularly fun but was always clean and the staff were always available to help. Recommended

i really liked this place. i didn't rate it the highest... just because there are better. i already booked this place again... it is in lower harlem... i really liked this area... can walk to the park so easily.. the people living in the area are really nice... found a great little wifi cafe up the street... just good nice people. i really got use to this and when i went downtown and to midtown... i was just sickened by the mass of tourist and the levels of rudeness i encountered.

Most of the staff was nice; however, one of them was kind of a jerk. Overall, not too bad; dirty but acceptable. Also, there were girls who stayed in our "guys only" room, which was not a problem as they were nice although I found it terribly unprofessional.

The place was very clean and it was great that they provided breakfast. The price is unbeatable, though I was a little bit afraid of walking by myself in the area at night - I'd definitely stay there again!

It is cheap, and there is definitely reason why... The CCTV is not working and anyone could come inside without the key... Even any crook sneaks in, the staff cannot notice cuz the front dest is far away from the enterance... It is not safe at all....Trust me... I totally regret staying there for saving money... I lost my luggage.. and they say it is not theire responsiblity. The thing is I put my big luggage where they wanted me to put... I am still so pissed off at their attitudes...

This place was totally a NIGHTMARE. It is not secure AT ALL, I put my luggage where the staff told me to put, but I lost it... The staff says it is not their responsibility... what a fuck.. I lost $1,000 worth and they don\'t even say sorry.... It is cheap, but not secure at all.... I definitely regret my decision to say at the cheap and shabby hostel.

The showers and bathrooms are cleaned daily. The majority of the staff there are really nice, particularly Mike but watch out for the guy on nights. The area with which the hostel is situated might be intimidating because of its proximity to Harlem but we had no problems with the locals. It is important to know where your going and not wander around drunk at 4am lost. Always take the subway to the 110th stop (all trains always stop here day and night) and not th 116th stop as advertised.

I live in this hotel only one night from 11:55pm to 5:00am, I think it is a average hotel. The price on this website said it was included the tax. However, when I arrived, they said it was not included the tax! if you want to book it, you must consider the price pay the tax ($4 a day)!

Very nice hostel. I would definitly recommend it to others! Breakfast is good and most importantly it is clean. I was with a group of five and the staff was very helpful and gave good tips. The neighbourhood is average at night for girls, but if you're with a group it's doable.
