My traveling experience in hostels leads me to the belief that the staff makes or breaks the stay. The staff is EXCELLENT! I would recommend to anyone.

The staff were really nice and helpful. It was unbearably smokey though, which is fine if you are a smoker but if you're not it is horrible as the smoke gets into the rooms and kitchen, everywhere.

mladen and dragana are the best -- very helpful no matter what you need, like help with directions or serb phrases. they even share rakia with you! they go out of their way to make your time in belgrade as good as it can be. they are outgoing and fun and make it easy for you to come out of your travel weary shell. the hostel is centrally located, close to museums, the pedestrian shopping street, the fortress, and republic square. there are plenty of restaurants nearby and a kitchen/fridge if you want to cook for yourself. noise level in hostel fine -- no problems sleeping as doors are solid and beds comfy. lots of repeat customers from what i saw on my recent stay -- like an extended family or well-behaved frat house. only issue is malfunctioning faucet in bathroom and low water pressure in shower. the place is small but that helps to provide an atmosphere where it is easy to make friends quickly. i will be back and will tell my friends to stay at 3BC when they are in BGD.

I really enjoy my days in the three black cats. I recomand this hostel to everybody who want to enjoy his travel in Beograd. The atmospher is really fine, the owner has really good advice for discovering the city and give to our travel something original. Don't hesitate...

The staff was great, the people a blast, and once they get an a.c. (which was promised to be soon to come) there can't be a complaint. And the (single) bathroom was huge and impeccably clean. Not to mention the lady hostel worker is strikingly beautiful.
One bad note: a really, really, creepy, creepy 40+ yr old American guy (Doug, his name I think) has been living there for two months. He's just a general run of the mill asshole, but dampens what is otherwise a phenominal experience at a top-notch hostel.
