Genuine family run B&B. Very rare today! A true flavour of real Estonia. Much better than modern hotels. Finish building the sauna and it will be 100% perfect. Peaceful area yet close the town center.

Despite the fact that I arrived only 3 days after the proprietor's wife had given birth to their second child (and the other was an energetic two year old), the owner went out of his way to be helpful and friendly. He made an excellent breakfast and gave me tips on where to go around Tallinn. You can walk to the center of town from the B&B, but the restaurants around it are cheaper because it's not directly in the center, which is nice. I stayed in the cottage, which was quite cosy and had it's own sauna, although it is probably a bit more primitive than usual B&B rooms. For me, it was perfect! Very authentic. I would recommend it especially to young people, and people who are used to traveling in Eastern Europe.

The house is out in the suburbs, but only a few steps away from the bus line which gets you to the Old Town in 10 minutes. It's nothing fancy, but nice and comfortable. The owner and his wife are easy to talk to, and they have a very friendly cat on staff as well.

I am in no position to comment about the quality of anything at Tihase other than their reservation system. The reason is that I was bumped because an earlier guest was allowed to continue occupying the room the room that would have gone to me despite the fact that I had a confirmed reservation. Although I was please with the hotel with which Tihase B&B negotiated to house me at the same rate, I felt that if alternative arrangements needed to be made for anyone, they should have been made for the person that overstayed her visit. I don't think it's a good business practice for a hotel to bump anyone who has a confirmed reservation. The whole purpose of reserving a room in advance at a particular location was so that I would not arrive in town and have to wonder about where I was going to stay. In this instance, it was just by luck that I was satisfied with my stay at the alternative hotel, but the next person that Tihase does that to may very well not be satisfied with the alternative.

We have stayed in many B&Bs and for the price found this one OK but not at the top of our list. The host was very friendly and helpfull; he picked us up at the airport and dropped us off at the busstation. With a bit of extra effort and tidyness this could be a very good B&B.
