  • The hostel is located in a typical japanese house with a very nice garden inside. It is very near to Uguisudani station (JR Yamanote line) and Iriya station (Tokyo metro). The staff is absolutely nice and very helpful and they gave us a map with all the main attractions located nearby The dormitory and all the common areas were very clean and you have the possibility to use a big kitchen with all the things you need. It was a fantastic experience for us and I want to recommend it!

  • Such a fun place to stay the night at, I only wish I had more time to spend there. Coming to Japan I knew virtually no Japanese but their directions from the airport were complete and accurate and I had no problems getting there. The staff was great and very welcoming. Definitely stop in at the front desk bar after 7 and you'll have a ball.

  • Everything is more than what we expected. We love everything except for the part that they turn off the light at 12 p.m. which we found it a little inconvenient when they're only two showers. But overall, It's a really nice place if you like to stay in "old Japanese buildings" with a little garden. The staff there is super nice and friendly. The place is cozy. You get to meet a lot of people from different countries.

  • Toco is absolutely the best. I recommend it to everyone I know who might come to Tokyo. Heck, I suggest people come to Tokyo just so they can stay there! The staff speak a variety of languages and the traditional Japanese style house is just utterly beautiful. It's the wonderful staff that make this place really special though.

  • This hostel has all the ingredients to be great, it's beautiful and in a good location for trains, but for me it just didn't pull it all together. The staff are very young and seem quite immature. As well, the kitchen area is very small with space for only 6 people to sit. Strict on some rules but flexible on the noise coming out of the bar and noise of people checking in late in the evening (post 12-midnight). Not flexible on checkin time at all. This is common in Japan. Hire towels very small.

  • Wonderful experience! All the staff members were very friendly and welcoming. They all speak English so communication wasn't a problem at all.

  • The hospitality was amazing. The front desk turns into a quaint bar at 7pm and offers a free welcome drink with your stay to sample Japanese beers, whiskey, and sake. Also, for a small price, they provide a traditional Japanese breakfast. It was delicious! The beds all had their own storage and the staff would provide pad locks upon request. They seemed to have though of everything to make you feel at home!

  • My friends and i truly enjoyed our stay here. the staff is awesome, the place is beautiful, and it's easy to get to the trains. The cafe area in the front is super cute and is nice to hang out in if you're not feeling a big night out. if you stay in the bunk beds they have curtains, lights, and outlets which i always think is super great. the building is so cool but it is old and is therefore very noisy and quite cold at night. (it's feb). really great overall!
