Very close to Kensington market and easy to access the core touring spots. However, at the next block near Chinatown, there was a murder in a store next to this hostel. The bathroom was less than satisfactory but the beds were ok. We really just needed a place to sleep and clean up so it was just sufficient. It's actually in a pretty seedy place in Toronto but it's along one of the main streets (Dundas) and you can get to the heart of the city rather easily just walking along so you won't get lost.
