tranquil lodge is tranquil. right in the middle if a housing estate/road. its grand. staff very helpful, gace us best direction on what to do. booked an extra 3 nights not a problem. dont really have a bad word to say about it. it is a fine place to rest your head. and the city is only a 20 minute walk away.

Just what we needed in a hostel. Graham the manager is spot-on and very helpful. Comfortable rooms and good facilities.

Really liked this hostel, it makes such a difference coming from the big flashpacker resorts to a place like this. More like a foster family home!!! Graham was brilliant, he even gave us a lift with all our bags to catch the bus early in the morning. Rooms were nice with tv and heaters+ good size too. No complaints here :)

It's functional. But they could do without the exposed electrical wires about head height next to the bed.... otherwise it was clean and comfortable.

Awesome hostel, the owner is a legend, will help you out with anything. We ended up staying an extra 2 nights. Only small hostel so much easier to meet people (unlike the crowded and overcommercialised Base's). Highly recommended!

manager is relaxed & willing to help you out, but the location is too far from the city. Walking at night to the hostel includes passing by lots of drunk people. Hostel itself is actually a house to which parts have been added to make place for travellers. Cleaniness is not so good, especially the kitchen is home to lots of flies.

There was no complimentary tea and Coffee supplied and the towels you had to pay for .Security was not good as main door left open all night ,since we had to leave in the early hours for airport.
