We were lucky to get a private room with double bed for 50 euros when only booking on the day of arrival, especially when it is located so centrally. The hostel itself was fine and breakfast was provided for us free. But the double room has no curtains and is on quite a busy road so don't expect too much sleep. There are better hostels if you book in advance but we can't complain after booking at such late notice. Thank you steven, from England ~ 30th Oct 2009

Although a cat in the hostel is lovely, some people are allergic to her. The presence of the cat should have been mentioned beforehand. Takashi, from Jordan ~ 14th Sep 2009

Trans Siberian is fairly central to Pokrovsky Street, which runs all the way down to Red Square. First appearances are disconcerting, but this is a safe, clean hostel, with friendly English-speaking staff. Only accomadates a few people at a time, so you get to know people very quickly. Staff had a great New Year's Eve party, with vodka and food provided by the hostel. I reccomend it for first time visitors to Moscow looking for a more intimate hostel experience.
