With as much use as the hostel gets, the bathrooms, kitchens, and showers should get a thorough cleaning everyday. Other than that my stay was great.

It would become a much nicer place if someone would just give it a lick of paint. they sparayed our room so much with cleaner to cover up the damp smell that we ended up choking on it. check out at 9 is a stupid time and is for no apparent reason. kitchen was dirty but the room was up to standards apart from the smell.
- the mattress was extremely bad (apparently too old) - the caretaker was very unpunctual, as a direct consequence in addition insolent and unfriendly - however the owner (?) was very friendly and gave a lot of useful information
staff were not friendly at all. false advertisement with regards to the rooms. internet is not free - only 30 minutes a day is free. and a RIDICULOUS check out time - 9 am!

The person at the counter was like a robot and perhaps if she is so bored it might be time to move on. Lots of rubbish directly outside the window in our room. Kettle didn't work, no cups. blinds don't close. The room smelt musky and it might be an idea to open the windows for ventilation between guests. The bathroom was clean and no other problems. The person at the desk in the morning was fine.
you get woken up every morning at 8 o clock by a vacum cleaner outside the door and again a couple of hours later by a guy coming into your room looking for rubbish

If you're looking for fun don't stay here, it's not a party hostel. This was one of the reasons we liked it! We slept soundly every night, not easy to find in Kings Cross. Our only complaint would be that there is no common room which makes meeting people difficult. Also the guests while we were there didn't clean up the kitchen after themselves. Apart from that it was fine, nothing fancy but it's not a hotel!!!
