This place was great, a private bath for only $18 a night, and free place to park. Not to mention that the guy working the desk was super hot.

simple place having a go at it; not frilly or foo foo and I liked it that way. give em your support and expect to rough it as thas the way it is sometimes!

Do not expect any luxury or amenities at this hostel. It is simply a place to come back for the night and nothing more. The free parking lot was helpful and the location was superb (blocks from the Laurier metro station) in the heart of the Plateau, but other than that don\'t expect much from Vacances. The staff was very affable and ready to answer any questions, but the building itself leaves a lot to be desired. It used to be part of a primary school (which is still active next door) and the shower was terrible, but at least it was ensuite. It just looked really scary at first glance, but there are lockers inside the rooms and it is around the corner from a police station. I recommend this place if you are with sharing with friends and in Montréal to enjoy the city and not spend all day in a room! oh and no WiFi! If you need it, there is a cafe on the corner with free wifi.

This "hostel" looks like a welfare facility.

The man in the front desk was very nice and helpful, and he always had a genuine smile on his face. For the price this place was excellent.

Strange place, but very nice. It reminds me of the hostels you see in the movies. It was an old school that was broken into rooms. Showers were great, toilet was not so private, beds were old but rather comfortable. Front desk was very business like but friendly enough. It was very accomodating and I liked it a great deal.

Um the security consisted of usually one person who didn't blink an eye when I walked in and waved even though I'd never seen them before. Then, while we're on the subject of the front desk person, if you are a decent looking girl you will get hit on. And it will be bad. Oh yeah, and the beds are really especially terrible. And I've stayed in lots of hostels. It's not in a bad location, though. St. Denis has some good shopping and fun bars. . Best part: FREE PARKING! If you're driving to Montreal definitely stay here because parking sucks anywhere else.
