Very comfortable and homey hostel with a lot of charm. Great pub with music next door. Owner Pat is a great guy, even took me to the bus stop when it was raining. Rather isolated so bring your own food if cooking. Restaurant but no store nearby.
My friend and I absolutely loved our stay at Valley View - the beds were comfortable, and the house is beautiful, as well as being hidden by trees, which makes it like a little discovery - check out the cute little treehouse out the front!

If you like music and having great craic this is the hostel for you. Great atmosphere, very friendly guests and staff. Planning to go back in the near future.
The Valley Hostel was the best hostel I've ever been to! Mr. Gallagher was awesome, he welcomed us with open arms though we were late and the bar was already hopping, with two minstrels asingin' and all the guests mingling nicely! The rooms were clean as a whistle, the BEST bed I've ever come across! Do yourself a favor and experience the magic for yourself, either alone or with friends! Ann Petersen

Except for the rooms that are ok, the common areas are rather dirty. Absence of staff. Trashcans full, kitchen dirty, showers need to be renovated.

Really loved the Hostel, lovely old building with a very relaxed atmosphere. Definitely have to go back... Note: Location is grate, but I did have a car.
