We got a very small double room instead of the twin bed double room. there was a window that looked right into another room. and the bed was old and didn't sleep well. It was disappointing to see that we paid this price for this room. Though the staff was great and helpful and the bathroom was seriously clean and just great! Corien, from Netherlands ~ 9th Nov 2009

as a hostel, fantastic area and clanliness just misses out on a few things some others have, i.e. a commorn room open lnger for tose not wanting to go out all nigt and spend money and possibly a tv room for relaxing. plus i think the hostel itself could run a few activities for the guests, pub crawl is the perfect example of how you can get guests integrated. hostel run trips to certain areas so people can experience it cheaper i.e. hollywood at night etc. things for you to lok in to. otherwise Aled, from England ~ 22nd Sep 2009

We got moved to the sister hotel "Cadillac Hotel" where we had a better room with ocean view for the same price. Friendly staff but sometimes a bit disorganized. Both hostels are directly at the beach. Teresa, from Germany ~ 18th Sep 2009

Venice Beach Kotel was the perfect location for our Holidays at Venice Beach and LA!! A lot of fun, great staff and very helpful people at anytime. Room was very nice and quite at night so you can rest without problems :). You can get boogie boards, volleay-balls and more stuff to play on the beach for free. It is really good that everytime you wanna get in you need to tell the staff your room number and name, so that no one else can get in besides the guests. Thats important for the area the hostel is in. Venice Beach not the most interesting and greatest place in LA, but the hostel is alright and has really nice and helpful staff.
