Wang Fat Hostel in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

Located right in Causeway Bay so you are in the middle of everything. Right next to the subway station so easy to get anywhere you need to go. Rooms are tight, the odd cochcroche runs by, but there is nothing spectacular about this place. Its expensive, as are all hostels in Hong Kong, but you basically just pay for a place to sleep and hang out when its too hot out. Only two computers, only one is worth using however. The location is great; however, they packed 4 beds in a very small room for what they call the 3 person dorm. There was no space between the beds, so it was like you were sleeping with someone in a king size bed. The staff is some of the most unfriendly I have ever encountered. This hostel goes by many different names, so be careful. Overall, the whole operation seems a bit shady. But hey, the location is great. Scott, from USA ~ 18th Jun 2009

The location is the best one you can possibly have when you are staying in Hongkong!! Right next to the MTR station and surrounded by everything that's fabulous. We had a very pleasant stay, don't expect luxury:rooms were small but had everything, shower, toilet and excellent internet connection all for a great price. The owner Sam helped out us carrying our luggage to the A11 and eventually helped us getting a great deal on the taxi to the Airport. Staff was really helpful and nice!! I stayed at the Wang Fat Hostel for one week. It took a couple of days to get used to showering above the toilet and the rock hard beds but at least it had the facilities you need: bed, toilet, shower, even a tv. Nice with windows as well. But the room was very cold as we went there in January and didn't feel very clean. It was ok. What was great though was the location in Causeway Bay (much more pleasant than Kowloon)and free access to internet. Evelina, from Sweden ~ 12th Feb 2009
