good location, not far from capitol building, and close to Union Station.....staff not too helpful...they don't take messages for guests....my daughter called (I haven't seen her for over 4 years) and I was waiting for her call.... when I got back to Texas, she called me and said the office staff would not take a message!

The place is ok. The location is 5 blocks from the metro station and quiet in night. I think the price is good for the place if you want to save some money in your travel.

The location is perfect. Just 5 blocks away from capitol building. Everything looks good to me but it could have been better if lockers are provided in the rooms.

This was such a wonderful place to stay! The next time I'm in DC, I will definitely stay at the William Penn again. The staff were so very nice and everything was clean, not to mention, a fabulous location! Four Stars!!!!

The staff could not be nicer and go out of their way to be friendly, helpful and accomodating. The facility has an excellent location and is quite clean. I especially like the fact it is not a place for the 'party people', and the guests are encouraged to respect quiet time after 10 pm. Additionally, there is a library / living room for reading, relaxation, and conversation. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Washington, DC.

A Quaker hostel (which was unexpected), but with friendly staff, free breakfast, a good location (I managed to walk everywhere, but it was an effort) and the rooms/beds were absolutely fine. Would recommend, especially after talking to some people who stayed in other hostels in DC.

It's a Quaker retreat. Charged us 10$ each for "late" check in (5min after 9pm) and is very quiet. BUT the location is perfect (5mins walk to Capitol), the beds are good and comfy, the breakfast is awesome.
