If you are a person looking to meet people and have a nice place to sleep don't stay here. The rooms are very hot at night, the staff is less than friendly and it's not set up as a very social hostel. Though it's probably the cheapist place to stay in Cambridge i wouldn't recommend it.

as all the youth hostels in england this one was absolutly boring... a lot of old people.. the room was gloomy and the showers had no pressure. they almost charged me 10 pounds because I was supossed to check out at 10 am and i did it at 11 am. they don´t charge you for breathing because they still don´t know how, but when it comes to towels, a cup of tea or anything else... well, there is a fee. look for the backpackers hostels!

hot showers are not 24 hour. rooms were clean. breakfast was amazing - bacon, eggs, mushrooms, cereal, juice, fruit, rolls, meat, cheese. location was okay, staff very helpful but there were lots of families which was boring for a single, young traveler

I travelled around England for 11 days, and Cambridge was the last destination. Regarding Hostels I stayed, believe it or not, sometimes we need trust this: the last, the better! I do appreciate YHA Cambridge's cleanliness and the breakfast was brilliant.

Weird hostel.. there were no lockers in the rooms for our luggage, I kept being told I was talking too loud at 11 pm, and when I came at night to pick up my luggage from the locker, the staff yelled at me that I was supposed to have picked it up by 6 pm, which no one ever mentioned to me. And the staff at night kept mumbling under their breath what a horrible that place was to work. The only good thing is that they screwed up and charged me much less than I owed!

The noise at times was a little excessive with running and jumping and heavy bumping and the staff were reluctant to do anything about it.One of the staff Said,'Well it is a youth hostel as if to say people my age had no rights but to let this kind of tjing continue until after midnight is in my humble opinion JUST NOT ON.This is the first time since i first joined the YHA at the age of 17,53 years ago that I have deignedto complain.

Seriously overpriced. 40 pounds for a bunkbed in a room that is hardly any bigger than the bunkbed seems a bit excessive.
