YMCA of Newark & Vicinity in Banska Bystrica, USA

it's basically a trash. i reserved online, with 10% down payment. the counter anyway charged me the FULL amount, but not the amount due. besides, its small, dirty, noisy room made me sleepless. one of my friend's room has unopenable windows, and even worse the air conditioning fan is broken down - that means they have to sleep in a totally closed room for whole night which nearly killed them by lack of fresh air. It was a big suprise when the taxi brought us to a family shelter, which this YMCA is. The taxi driver told us not to get out at night because it is not safe. I have not felt unsafe for a moment though. The staff was great and so friendly. The rooms are clean and the people you meet very interesting. Go here when you are open for some adventure and if you do not mind to meet people you never thought you would meet and brush your tooth in the same bathroom. Miriam, from Netherlands ~ 28th Jul 2011
