Really lovely home style hostel.

This is the kind of hostel where you sort of just show up, find your bed, get the door code and do your own thing for a while. The staff is helpful and the atmosphere is friendly and cozy. People hang out in the kitchen and it's easy to meet other folks. I was here for a week and the hostel helped to make my stay a lot of fun. Recommended.

I was very disappointed with this hostel. The directions to get there were hard to follow (the underground walkway when you get out of the metro is difficult to see), the room door was locked when I got there, and the 24 hour reception deal is a complete fabrication. The staff - one man - was almost always absent and unreachable, and the one time he was there he was of no help at all.

It took them two days more than promised to give us the registration, but they finally did it. The two apartments are very close (5min) to the mayakowskaya metro stop and you can walk to the kremlin in 30 mins. The apt with the private rooms is much better and it feels like a real home.

Has to wait two hours for the staff before getting our room...

If all rooms are fully booked (16 persons) one bathroom is perhaps a bit small.

We didn't stay in main hostel building, but in the one (with private rooms?) that is on the other side of the street. Ok rooms, a clean toilet and a nice livingroom/kitchen combination.

Yellow Blue Bus is a quiet hostel closed to a metro station, and the center of Moscow; you walk 20min to the Red Place. The hostel is small, kitchen is equipped to cook quick meals. It was not possible to lock staff in the 4 beds bedroom. I definitely recommend this place.

The location is great - just 20 mins walk from Kremlin. Only gripe would be that twin rooms are located in a separate building across the road across a small park, which is dark to cross at night (especially for two girls on there own).
