  • Dear people at Youthostel Zermatt. I was never at your hostel. I booked an overnight stay and paied, but I had an accident before my departure and wasn't able to complete my trip. I tried to cansel my stay at your hostel. As I was not able to do it via the Internet i called.. in fact many times, but was not able to get through, so finally I gave up. I can though see from my bankaccount that the payment for my stay has been withdrawn, so I hope my ghost was not of too much inconvenience to you.

  • Overall, a decent place to stay, especially for families. Not a particularly social hostel (so best to go with others) but I doubt you will find one in Zermatt. Very clean and modern, with high quality beds with individual plugs and lamps for each bed. One negative is the check in only occurs after 4pm (No one is there at all to help you before 4pm). This is a hassle if you arrive mid-day, especially since staff won't provide any tourist help until 4pm. Overall, still nice.

  • Chances of getting that "Room with a View" are Slim too None with all the construction going on in Zermatt and in front of the Hostel itself, Was offered a Room on the 4TH Floor but way too many steps and no lift so I took the room facing the Brick Wall they had recently built blocking any View of the Matterhorn, Breakfast was Great and Helped cut the HIGH COSTS of eating out in Switzerland, Would be great if they had a Kitchen because prices for everything there are INSANE, All in all a Stay!

  • Cheapest place in Zermatt. However on the arrival day, we realized we had to pay 5 euros more than the price put on display on the website because we didnt have some member's card. This is a bit disappointing. Apart from that, everything was clean and you can have a good breakfast. The wifi is for free BUT if you have no smartphone, you have to pay to use their computers.

  • Best memory at Zermatt YouthHostel is the included breakfast: cheese, cold cuts, 4 varieties of hot chocolate, coffee, toast, cereal, yogurt... Can you dream of anything better before hiking or skiing? I can't. It was a really good stay: very clean, the staff was VERY HELPFUL with any request I could have, my adapter didn't work and I got one at the reception in exchange of a 10euro deposit (which I got back) and met great people. It's expensive but you can't find better in Zermatt.
