  • Nice hostel. Expensive, but everything is in Zurich. I booked a gender-specific dorm room, but that wasn't available when I arrived so I was put in a co-ed dorm room.

  • Generally all was good. However, what I didn't like was that I had especificaly requested a room for women and in the room assigned there was a guy.

  • The Zurich Hostel is a great hostel, good location, excellent facilities; BUT the staff on the front desk urgently need training in customer relations. The exception is Tania who is efficient, pleasant and helpful.. The other front counter staff were terrible in terms of showing a welcoming and friendly face to anyone who approached the front counter. Parathan NEVER smiles, he portrays a superior attitude to the clients, continues staring into the computer when customers are waiting.

  • Great big common room with great atmosphere + nice bar. Stayed in a room with three more people and it was OK. Prices are good (for Switzerland). It's great that reception is staffed 24/7 although the night staff were not as helpful or knowledgable as the day staff.

  • It would have been nice to have a fridge for the guests. Breakfast was generous and good, beds comfy, but 20 euros for a meal was outrageous. This is NOT a first class restuarant. I felt I was in the grip of a money hungry monster while there; pay for every little thing..15 euros for 1 hour of pool ??? Zurich needs a little more hostel competition who aren't so money hungry.
