MY ROOM WAS SMALLER THAN A PRISON CELL...the air-conditioner in my room didn't produce cool air...the lock to my door was broken. I recommend trying to stay somewhere else.however, I must say, the location of the Ashoka hostel is amazing, its a 5 minute walk from Victoria harbor, located right on Nathan Road, the center of Kowloon. It is a very good location if you are planning to go to all of the tourist spots in Hong Kong. It has all the access on most of the transportation. Nice place to stay.. Read Owner Comments Andrew, from Saudi Arabia ~ 26th Mar 2012

I've stayed in many of the Hostels located in Chungking Mansions, most of which were dumps. Ashoka Hostel is the exception. It was clean and efficiently ran. It will definitely be my first choice the next time I'm in HK. Read Owner Comments Christopher, from USA ~ 20th Mar 2012

Uncomplicated and friendly staff, nice location to explore Hongkong. 10 min walk to the star ferry heading to Hongkong island. Totally recommend it! Would visit it again Alexander, from Germany ~ 7th Mar 2012

The location is excellent as it is just opposite of TST MTR station. The room is clean and they provide room service daily. However, toilet's condition to be improved. Hot water is provided for shower but not basin. Molds on toilet's floor and door. Yee Lee, from Malaysia ~ 26th Feb 2012

The rooms was ok, very small but clean. The hostel was on 13th. floor, and the ground floor was not a nice place. It was very crowded, and we had to wait a long time before we got an elevator ( who they stuff very many people in). Before we arrived at the hostel we were told by some locals that the ground floor was not a safe place to stay, special when it was dark. That was something we felt as well. Thats the reason we insured to be back at the hostel before sunset. Nina Groenli, from Norway ~ 4th Mar 2012

Overall I had a good stay. The bed space I stayed inwas tiny but I guess it's typical for Hong Kong. The great view made up for it though. Pretty accommodating. Anna, from USA ~ 16th Feb 2012

The hostel was very comfortable. The rooms were very small, as one would expect in a cheaper hostel. The staff were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, my room was next to the very noisy meeting area. Also, it can be very long waiting for the elevators to reach the rooms. The location is excellent, I would absolutely recommend this hostel. Colleen, from Canada ~ 12th Feb 2012

The staff/owner had really poor service and not friendly at all. I asked if he knew any good dim sum restaurant close by and he just ignored me, didn't even say yes or no. What the hell? Seems like all they care about is making money, don't care about their customers at all. Also, they need to enforce some kind of rule that you need to be quiet after 10pm or something. I was trying to sleep at around 12am and a group of British, Australians, and Americans were drinking and talking really loud. Vinh, from USA ~ 12th Feb 2012
