Room and sheets had a funky smell. Other than that-location was very good (you see the sign on the right as soon as you get off the subway.) Also subway stop is only about a stop or two away from kyoto city. All in all- it's good place if you need a place to crash the night. Well placed, security is good. the hostel is located right next to downtown Kyoto and has very nice rooms and stuff. i enjoyed my time very much guy, from Israel ~ 1st Oct 2009

We stayed in a double room the room was large, however the bed was every small ( 3/4 size) and we could feel every spring in the bed, if your after a private room stay at a hotel, it costs the same and it will have its own bath room and a larger bed. Kelly, from Australia ~ 28th Sep 2009

this hostel is located in the town main center best location in kyoto. Rever, resturants, shops, coffees, bars, shopping streets, and temples all are just around. All people who are visiting kyoto come to spend their day and night in this area. It is the best hostel and hostel location I have ever seen. If I have a chance to visit kyoto again, it is sure I will stay in bAKpAK Kyoto Hostel. Really I don't want more..., All hostel stuff members are very friendly and helpefull nice persons....
