Back of Chapel was a great place to stay! Everyone was very nice and helpful. The bathrooms were really clean too! And its so close to everything good!

Not gud enough.Bathroom walls/windows r grimy/showers r filthy. Hasnt had a proper clean in an age by d luk of it. Daily cleanin just means mopping. Small kitchen + its also a bit dirty. Stayed over a wked+it wz very loud despite us bein in an upstairs room which they claim is quiet. D residents were shoutin/playin music til past6 in d morning,impossible to2leep.Huge TV so if thats what you want in a hostel this place is 4u. Theres nicer places nearby 4similar rates

If I was a single guy with nothing to lose, sure, I would love this place! However, it wasnt for us. The place had the atmosphere of being being very, I dont know, creepy, I guess. Advantages: The staff, who was there until 7pm, was a really great guy who took quite some time to show us how to get where in Melbourne. Aside from that, we were woken at 4am by the party-crews, which again, would be great for other people.
Overall this hostel was ok. The free breakfast is quite good, as is its location pretty much on Chapel Street. Overall i'd say good for quiet times, not so good for fun or meeting people and if you like the 'geeky' characters from school, you'll love it!!!
I loved this hostel! The buliding being just a oldstyle home, it has such character like sharing a home not feeling the need to lock your door..so safe! Location on Chapel St. is great..you can spend a day with all the cafe's, restaurants, shopping and many nights with the clubs!

I stayed on a Saturday night. It was noisy almost all of the night. Don't stay here on the weekends if you expect to sleep.

some great people staying in the hostel (best thing it has going for it) but other than that it was mostly very dirty, cold and one of the staff members was quite rude. location only good if you plan on not leaving chapel street

Great location
The staff were quite helpful and easygoing. We didn't do much more than sleep here, so I can't say much about the social atmosphere. Lots of good restaurants in the area. Overall, a very good choice.
