good if you don't want to be in the middle of the nightlife, private cabins are good its like youve got your own little house!the courtesy bus is a must otherwise its a long walk into town but airlie is a definate must see on the east coast, staff were helpful but didn't really make an effort to be friendly.

Not a place for 18-24 yr old\'s, if you want some peace & quiet then yes. 2.5k\'s from the main beach area + bar\'s & this hostel is absolutely dead at night and because each room is in a seperate compound it makes it very difficult to get to know people. Breakfast is absolutely brilliant but ridiculously finishes at 8.30!! Again, not set up for young backpackers. Internet REALLY overpriced. Stay at hostel on beach for nightlife! DO NOT recommend!

A bit out of town but a nice place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of Airlie.

Really nice studio cabin with great wet-room shower. Shutters all around with bug screens was a nice touch. Good quality breakfast (cereal, toast, tea/coffee, fruit) was included in the price! Free pick up from coach terminal and 16 runs into town a day if you can\'t manage the 20 minute walk along the scenic boulevard. V close to supermarket and shops. Good tour advice too.

I had never stayed in a hostel before, so this was a new experience for me. When I got there I ended up getting upgraded from a dormitory style room to a nicer one! The next night I was there (3 days later) I got upgraded again to the beautiful double room that was brand new and extremely clean! I felt safe and clean and wasn't worried at all about staying there. Being far away from town was a little inconvenient because we had to take cabs if we needed to be anywhere when the complimentary shuttle wasn't running. The staff was really nice and helpful and the breakfast that was prepared in the morning was actually really good! I highly recommend this hostel, especially if you get upgraded!

Owner Ken knows a lot about the tours availiable and they one we went on, the Camira is an amazing choice...Close to the marina where the tours leave from and the huts you sleep in are ok. Free breafast is great!!

I am thinking that this hostel gets its high ratings from the private rooms, because the six person dorm room I was in was not that great. The bathroom was completely infested with ants, there were bugs and geckos all over the interior of the room and the shower only half the time gave out any pressure at all. Overall, I was not impressed with this hostel, although the staff were very nice and the free shuttle into town was pretty cool. The price per night is too high for this hostel; I have stayed in much nicer for a lot less.
