Great place to stay, ex communist party barracks! They put on movies outside in the evening, good for the weary tourist who's been seeing xi'an all day and wants a rest, the food is top notch and cheap too! Great helpful staff, comfortable bed, if you go to Xi'an you must stay here!

A pleasant place to stay with a good atmosphere. Be aware that when you book a tour through the hostel to Hua Shan, it takes 5 hours (rather than 2 hours by public transport) to get there as the Chinese tour company stops at different places along the route, including a herbal medicine centre.

Absolutely brilliant place. Would highly recommend. About 10min walk from the train station and in a good part of town away from all the noise. Staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to help you. The room we had was super clean and we couldn't fault it. Onsite bar / food and fun was great and the little live in beagle dog topped it off. This is a very underrated hostel and I would most definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

Reception staff friendly, rooms clean and building quite charming. However, the bar staff wasn't very friendly, they charge for internet and their location isn't as convenient to the center as other hostels. Xi'an is getting pretty hot (early June) and the main roads are under massive construction so walking and bussing were a bit tiring (though taxis are very cheap). Though the place is nice, other hostels also get very good remarks so if we went again we would stay elsewhere.
