AAE Portland Downtown in Austin, Amerika

AAE Portland Downtown was not very Hostel like, it was definitely more like a cheap hotel. So there was no common area to hang out in and meet other people on their travels. it was a great little hotel though. A great location and great staff. Renee, from Australia ~ 19th Mar 2012

This dingey motel was a pretty huge dissapointment. The staff were rude right off the bat, wouldn't let us use the phone, they pestered us constantly for when we were leaving and for the key before we'd checked out. There were bedbugs and the electricity didn't work, and the display on the TVs was extremely spotty. There was a group of guests yelling in the hallway at 3am and nobody told them to be quiet and when we went to the front desk nobody was there. A great stay for the price!It's a no-frills kind of place, but for the price, it's pretty impressive.My boyfriend and I stayed one night at $60 with tax and all.We had our own room with queen bed and a full private bathroom.The staff was really nice and very helpful.It doesn't seem like a great place for people hoping to party with their fellow hostelers, but for couples or people just looking for a quiet place to sleep in downtown Portland, it's the perfect place.
