Adelaide Hostel and Hotel in Budapest, Amerika

I had a single room with ensuite in the Fitzgerald hotel which was great value, with breakfast included. It is in a terrific location, near Union Square, feeling quite safe. The second time I was travelling with a friend who lives in the States we had a twin room with ensuite she was very impressed with the value and facilities. We came in Adelaide but Adelaide's staff told us to go in Fitzgerald hotel (100m away) because we took a private room: a very good news. Adelaide seems to be for dorms. They're working together. Quite disappointed with the location(Tenderloin)Continually pan-handled on streets all hours of day and night.Did not feel safe, even though I am a large male.I had a private room which was okay except TV did not work.Breakfast okay, but staff cheerless.

We are located just two blocks from Union Square which is generally considered to be the premiere tourist area of the city. The tenderloin is located to the southwest of us, though it is easily avoided as there's little reason to go to that area of the city. There are homeless panhandling throughout the city, though primarily in nicer and tourist areas as they're more likely to give more money to the homeless population.

Great overall atmosphere, great staff, and good facilities. Need to be aware that some security issues-incouding unlocakble windows in female dorm rooms facing alley should be reviewed, as well as the dangerously hot temps in some showers-causing minor burns. Please review breakfast set up if staff is not ready to serve breakfast at 7am (Often oatmeal/fruit bowls were not ready for consumption) then feel free to push the start time back to 7:30am. The Location is amazing and the staff is very helpful! Esspecially when you are travelling alone i can receommend the 10 bed dorms, cause they offer a nice privacy with beds like in a train... Michael, from Germany ~ 13th Mar 2012
