The staff at Alkimista is fantastic, very helpful and fun to hang out with. The common area usually has people hanging out but it was never too loud to sleep. Also, there is an abundance of private and CLEAN bathrooms, a real treat at this price. Fantastic location, right next to the subway and walking distance to plenty of tourist attractions and restaurants. Highly recommended.

THE HOSTEL IS LOCATED IN A VERY STRATEGY AREA OF THE CITY, IT IS VERY NEAR TO THE CONGRESS AND THERE IS A SUBWAY STATION IN THE SAME SIDEWALK. YOU CAN WALK FROM THERE TO THE PRINCIPALS STREETS OF THE CITY OR TAKE A BUS IN FRONT OF IT. THE STAFF ARE VERY KIND AND FRIENDLY, THEY CAN HELP EVERYONE THAT NEEDS A INFORMATION. THE HOSTELS IS VERY CONFORTABLE WITH A WARM CLIMATE.

Small and a little bit dull hostel but in a good location. The dorm was too small for five people and it was impossible to lay your stuff anywhere. No room for moving or the backpack. No daylight in the room. Showers were "so so", nothing too fancy and the breakfast was a joke (only coffee and bread). Go to Hostel Giramondo instead!!

En las habitaciones que dan al patio de la escalera no se puede dormir por las noches, en los pisos superiores hay otros hostels que no paran de poner musica hasta las 05.00am. Porel resto esta bien. Muy centrico

very poor hostel run by a group of young local guys who seem to want to use it as a place for them to pick up women & have their friends come around to hangout. If you're a girl you will get the best of attention but if you're a bloke you'll be almost made to feel unwelcome. Their own (suspect) music is all that's allowed to be played, you can only party if & when they feel like it, laundry comes back dirtier than when you sent it & they attempt to speak to you as if you're a schoolboy. Oh & you

No hot water, and the kitchen was pretty dirty.People didn´t keep it clean (dirty dishes),and the staff didn´t care to get it cleaned up, before the next morning, were the maid was at work. So the kitchen was not of much use. But the bath rooms were pretty clean, and the house itself is beautiful. Nice to stay in an old "Buenos Aires House".An average experience!

The staff was so warm and helpful. I have traveled to Buenos Aires many times, and I feel that the Alkimista Hostel is the best place to stay in Buenos Aires.-carroll clark, california
