this hostel is a joke!we were several people with a booking for the dormitory tent and when we arrived at midnight they told us that our booking is to sleep outisde on the terrasse without roof with only a sleeping bag and no breakfast included. it could be okay if it's summer time and not raining as it was for us, but they do that only to get more money because you accept to change your booking and to pay more in order to sleep inside! moreover, the restrooms don't close! go to Soho Hostel ! We bookedthe ''20 bed shared tent''. However, arriving there, we realized that there was no tent and no bed. The ''tent'' is actually the balcony that you can see on the 1st picture of the hostel. It would be ok to sleep there in summer. But lying to people telling them that there will be a tent and beds is a joke. There wouldn't give us even a blanket and wanted to make us pay a supplement to sleep in a normal room. This is not honest Plus, the staff was rude, disrespectful and insulting. Very poor at all! Dirty, smelling, dark room with a very small window. Not usable cupboard, too messy it was. The very poor breakfast was served on a plastic plate. Sullen staff. The staff is awesome. The guy at the reception desk is funny and is always trying to say something in the mother language of the guests. There´s a fridge at the reception desk where u can buy inexpensive beverages and towel is for free (I loved that), U just have to leave a 5 lira deposit that u get back as u return the towel. The location is great, it's only half a block from the Blue Mosque and all the public transport. There is a housekeeper so it's all very clean. The view doesn't get any better than this for such an amazingly inexpensive backpacker price. From the comfort of your bed, one can watch the ships sailing from the Strait of Bosphorus while gazing up at the iconic Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque. With free WiFi and breakfast in addition to it's friendly staff this hostel is sure to start your trip to Turkey off right! Unpleasant stay here. We were asked to pay for 5 Lira for the use of kitchen. It wasn't been told when we were there and not stated on any noticeboard. This is quite ridiculous as the hostel promoted it to allow the use of kitchen. Lighter for stove was not provided in the kitchen and we got to buy for it. Check-out time 10.30am is too early and the staff's attitude was awful, we said that we'd be 20 minutes late for checkout, they showed bad manner and insisted that we would get charged. The hostel was very nice and the location is great. As for security there is a guard dog (Arab) that sleeps outside LOL But really the security is great you have to be buzzed in and the have security cameras. They have great breakfast very morning. Joey, from USA ~ 6th Nov 2012
