Bothy Hostel in Arequipa, Peru

Pros: Rosie in particular is very helpful - told us things to do and postponed our booking in the next hostel (Bothy Puno) when we became ill . English speaking. Very cheap, cleaned regularly. Good location. Cons: Showers fluctuate between hot and cold. They turn music on at 8am in bar, keeping you awake. Okay for some. Warning: Do not eat at the cheap 4.50-7 soles restaurants in Arequipa. Unlike in Nazca, they are terrible quality here and gave us food poisoning for 2 days. Go pricier. Paul, from England ~ 29th Aug 2012
