For someone that has never been in a hostel...it was awsome! Breakfast was good, rooms were clean and sufficient for a short stay! I must say, the location was gorgeous! Beautiful neighborhood, with subway only a few blocs away, numerous restaurants and shopping possibilities. I would totally choose this hostel again, without a doubt! Hope you'll have fun in Chicago! A pretty amazing hostel, with a 4-room common area, lots of sofas and chairs to chill in, an awesome kitchen, an excellent free breakfast (for a hostel), a real barbecue and organized activities almost every day. A wonderful hostel to stay in! The staff were all super friendly, and the place was clean and safe. The area is full of cute little old houses, and close to many boutique shops. The Getaway Hostel had been recommended by a friend, and I strongly second that recommendation. The facilities and location are both great. The staff is friendly and very helpful.Breakfast choices are more than expected and the availability of kitchen facilities was much appreciated. I actually wish that I had more time to stay longer. I really enjoyed my stay at Getaway, I met some really cool people who i still keep in contact with and plan on coming back with in the summer time. I think the front office staff was very helpful in helping me and my friend find places to eat and how to get to certain places etc. The only thing that i didnt like was that there was a super super small mirror in the room.
