Chicago Hostal in Surfers Paradise, Ecuador

Quiet, well-run hostel that is a 5-10 min walk from the Old City and an easy taxi ride to La Mariscal.Breakfast can be purchased for an additional $2 per person- decent size portion including very good fruit and juice, and served on the rooftop terrace with views of the city.Seems like a good deal for couples traveling together- the base level private room is a good size, well-furnished and clean.Staff is very helpful and available- run by an Ecuadorian family. For the most part I had a great time in Hostel Chicago.My room and bathroom were nice and clean and I had a great view of the Basilica.I got free breakfast, but that's ending soon. It was also really close to the Ecovia station, which was very convenient.The only issue that I had with it was that while I had internet the first few days, I didn't after the fourth day, and never got it again.They did have a communal computer, but you had to wait for other people, and it ran really slowly. I stayed at Chicago Hostel in Quito for almost three weeks, having a wonderful experience, especially with the staff. It's quite economical. English is spoken. There's a kitchen available most of the day. The entire place is very clean sheets are changed almost on a daily basis. There's no elevator but the other amenities compensate for that inconvenience.
