If possible and you are not acclimatized to the altitude, try and get a room on 1st or 2nd floor. The 5 flights of stairs were a killer. Great hostel, well worth it for the private room I got. aaron, from England ~ 31st Mar 2012

It´s a great place for the price. The staff is friendly and helpful. We could name the lack of a lift as the only bad thing. FABIO MOLEIRO, from Brazil ~ 13th Feb 2012

This is good value given it has a hotel feel.I had a private room with a tv and hot water shower. Located close to shops and restaurants. Very clean room and good breakfast. Arif, from Canada ~ 24th Jan 2012

Cruz de los Andes is a quite place in the otherwise bustling and noisy environment of La Paz´ Rosario barrio. As already mentioned by the other reviewers, the staff ist helpful and friendly, they have good beds, good showers, good breakfast, TV in the clean rooms, a secure luggage store and nice wall paintings. The location ist close to everywhere you will want to go in La Paz, especially if you want to buy cheap outfit oder outdoor equipment. Geerd, from Germany ~ 31st Dec 2011

It would be nice to have a social non smoking area for those that don't want stinky clothes but all in all good fun and would recommend it to anyone lucy, from England ~ 19th Nov 2011

Decent breakfast. Big rooms. Good location. Helpful staff. Showers didn't get hot enough. Got electric shocks in shower. They let us check in at 7am which was great. Mark, from Australia ~ 1st Sep 2011

I stayed 2 nights, this week, the day & afternoon staffspeak english. The night man doesn´t but tries to be helpful. the day staff are helpful. Avoid room 104 unless you have an eye mask as there is a very bright mercury vapor street lamp directtly opposite this room The bed in 104 was actually very comfortablethe bed in the other room slightly less so but ok The place has electric shower heaters. the one in 104 is a bit flaky but the one in 304 was excellent Breakfast included scrambled Richard, from Australia ~ 25th Aug 2011

This was a nice hostel with very helpful staff. Very good internet and wifi. The hostel works with a good travel agent around the corner through which I booked tranfers, bus tickets and day trips. You can hire an electric heater for a few dollars a night. There are hot showers but you have to adjust the water flow just right (not too much pressure). Hostel is nice and safe. Most of the visitors are travellers from the West. Good breakfast. Janette, from England ~ 11th Jul 2011
