we arrived in shangri la very late, after midnight. couldnt find the hostel, and nobody picked up the phone to help us. some nice tibetan girls helped us and we found it :) Carolin, from Germany ~ 2nd Aug 2012

Very good English-speaking receptionist and helpful as well.The building is old but everything worked and was clean.Wifi was fine during off hours and washing facilities and luggage storage were available. Arthur, from USA ~ 2nd Aug 2012

This hostel was most disappointing. There was no hot water and the bathroom were filthy. The beds are very hard and one of our quilt was plain dirty. We even couldn't close our window completely. Moreover, the staff tried to rip us off our deposit and became insulting when we protested. I would definitely not recommand this place to anyone. The location is OK though.
