Gold Coast is undoubtedly the most amazing place I've ever stayed throughout my years of traveling. The owner, Carlos, and his wife are two of the nicest, most genuine people I've met and they truly want their guests to enjoy their stay in Lagos. They proudly shared Portuguese culture, gave advice for what to do during the rainy weekend, and Carlos even woke up at 5am to put out breakfast before we caught an early bus. We stayed two nights in Gold Coast. The staff there (Arthur and Carlos) was very nice, helpful and hospitable. They offered us a soup when we came the first evening. Meanwhile Carlos read us some Luís de Camões poems :). The other day they had some sangria prepared for us. And of course many tips and good advice. We also got a free upgrade of our room, as the one before was being painted. As for the hostel - probably the cleanest I've ever been to, with a nice terrace, situated in the very c Filip, from Slovakia ~ 20th Apr 2012

We spent 2 nights at Golden Cost, it was perfect. Clean, tide up rooms, common area, bathrooms and kitchen. Good breakfast in price. Free access to computers with internet. Security lockers for expensive things allowed. Stuff take care about guests. marcelina, from Poland ~ 27th Oct 2011

a beautiful hostel, located in the old town of Lagos, close to the beach, close to a supermarket. very friendly staff. and it´s a quiet place in the evening... you can hear the ocean if you are sitting at the terrasse. If you wann make party all night long, you should stay in antother place. on wednesday and saturday evening they have some sangria for their guests for free. Excellent hostel, very clean, very modern. Extremely friendly staff, excellent facilities, including roof terrace. Fab location in Lagos. Can only fault one thing, the beds were seriously uncomfortable which was dissappointing. If it wasn't for the beds I would say this is the best hostel I have stayed in! We stayed in a private room in the private building a short walk from the main hostel. It was newly refurbished and very clean. Good size room and big bathroom. Big communal kitchen and nice outdoor terrace. Fantastic location near bars and restaurants but far enough away to avoid any noise. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The staff at this hostel are exceptional! They are extremely helpful and kind. They helped me to arrange some activities during my stay there.The rooms are very spacious and have nice bright sheets.There are keycards to open the front door and the bedrooms. There are also electronic safes to store your valuables.The hostel is a bit of a walk from the bus station and beaches, but it is nice because it is on a fairly quiet street so you can actually sleep at night.Absolutely great hostel!
