Amazing value, especially single ($15!) Great facilities: aircon, fan, wifi, nice furniture & bathroom. Sat TV and tea/coffee in big lounge. The manager works downstairs & is very knowledgeable and helpful. Some have criticised location, but it’s excellent! 50 metres to station with frequent trains to Colombo 5’ walk to buses, ATMs, Airtel office & local food cafes 10’ to big supermarket 2’ to beach & 15’ along to Mt Lavinia restaurants. Perfect place on arrival in SL - a/p taxi Rs2,80 Chris, from England ~ 24th Feb 2012

Far away from a center, but very close to the railway station and a beach in Dehiwala. Remote and quiet but convinient location. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, secure, a bit far from Colombo center but you can easily and cheaply get there with the 100 or 101 bus (about 40Rs/30p for a return trip). Right in center of Dehiwala and 20mins walk from the Zoo. Overall I was extremely satisfied with the service and facilities (own bathroom, air-conditioning, tele, computer with internet) and feel it is very good value for money. I would really recommend it. The room looked good when we got there. After awhile we noticed the sewage smell in the bathroom. It was so bad we had to keep the bathroom door shut. After closing it early in the evening, the door handle fell apart. The door was locked shut.I contacted the onsite manager and he came to our room and started bashing the door to open it.I suggested we just use the bathroom in the room next to us or the one across the hall as we were the only people in the hostel. A little off the beaten path, but close to public transport. The hotel was a bit strict with visitors...when my friend came into to help me carry out my bags they chased him out with a 'no visitors' policy. That was a bit extreme. Jason, from USA ~ 1st Sep 2011

Nice place to stay and really cheap to get into central colombo from here (pennies, by bus) and easy to spot where on the main road (Galle Road) you need to get off the bus (the only big concrete flyover bridge). The proximity to the beach is nice, but the beach is so polluted that you won't be going for a swim (if you have any sense) anyway - but the beach cafes and morning fishing boats are nice to hang around.
