The staff was very helpful, and when in comparison with the price of other hostels in Rome, is a good deal. The rooms are big, near the train station and a quick walk to some touristic places. The breakfast is not included, but it's valuable when you compare to the prices of one single cup of coffee in Rome. The rooms are big and had a whole shower with hot water (which was difficult to find in my backpacking in Europe). It's a place that you can feel comfortable but it's not to make friends. The hostel is very very closed to Termini Station (which is good, you don't need to take a Taxi, and when you need to go to visit Rome, there's buses nearby and metro station also), bedrooms are quite big and beds are comfortable, in general the hostel is really good since its the newest one they have in Rome, staff are really nice and always willing to help you on anything,Their 3 euros breakfast is totally worth it! This place was great.Good price, good rooms.The staff are super friendly.The building is in a good location for walking, (only 2.5 blocks to termini and easily walking distance to the monuments and central districts of Rome).The free pizza and 3 euro breakfasts are that great, but your in Rome!Go out!There is a great cafe two blocks towards central Rome that for 2 euros more, you can enjoy a great Roman breakfast. Very close to Roma Termini makes gives this hostel a great location. From Termini you can access public transport very easily which makes getting around the city easy as well as getting back to your bed. Of course if you choose, its not a far walk from downtown, perhaps 30 minutes. The facilities are good, the rooms are big and clean, the bathrooms and showers are very accommodating. They are extremely kind with tourists, open, smily, anyway, I do recommend Alessandro Downtown. It was really nice, after walk during all the day in Rome, in the end of the day go back in the winter to my lovely room there - even if I was sleeping with other 7 people! It was good. I stayed in a room with 7 other girls. We shared one bathroom. I can't complain about the room or bathroom, for the price we paid to stay it was decent. It is an extra 3 Euro to have breakfast, 1 Euro to use the computer commons if you did not bring a laptop. The common areas seemed to work better for accessing wifi, but in our room several people had problems with it. I had internet problems in the computer commons, it was very slow. What I most enjoyed about staying at Hostel Alessandro Downtown was the night out they organized along with their other hostel. I had a really fun time, and it helped me to meet other people. It is very conveniently located next to Termini, and only a 15-20 walk from the major sites, depending where. The staff was helpful, I felt very secure, and I had no issues with my stay there.
