If wifi is important to you, make sure you don't stay on the second floor. The only floor without it. You can access the other floors wifi from the second floor but the connection is weak. Other than that, everything was good. Admin, from Sweden ~ 31st Mar 2013

I've stayed in Hostel Kyotokko two times, in 2009 and 2013, the hostel had not changed a lot. The rooms are clean, the beds have a curtain so you get a little privacy. Rooftop is a great place to hangout and have a few beers. It was pretty quiet the last time i was there, not a lot of other people which gets kinda boring if you're travelling alone. Would recommend to anyone looking for a hostel in Kyoto. Will probably stay there again next time I go to Kyoto. Jere, from Finland ~ 19th Sep 2012

I had a good experience at the hostel. The location is in the heart of Kyoto and couldn't be more perfect.It is also within walking distance of the JR station and the Kyoto metro. I strongly recommend renting a bike (just 500 yen) to cover the town and visit sites. By the way there's an excellent Ramen restaurant about one block east. 7/11 is also nearby for atm access. Nice hostel and in a nice neighborhood. Hated the stairs to the 4th floor though (in July when it was HOT). Really nice touch to give out frozen water bottles for free! Kari, from Finland ~ 27th Jul 2012
