Taipei is great place to visit, and the location of Taiwanmex is great. It's not far from Taipei Main Station.

The staffs are great and the location is convenient. Free laundry but had some stuff stolen while drying on the balcony. Quality of the room fits the price. However, it's got all the essentials - AC, free Wifi, etc.

We were very pleased during our stay in Hostel Taiwanmex in Taipei, The family owner was so great, their place in 100% secured, the location is in the heart of the Taipei Business district and it was really clean...we did not expect that it could satisfy our needs, but they do. We conversed like one family despite of our cultural differences, I say so because during our stay, about 10 guest were from different countries such as Singapore, Canada, Colombia, Japan, Korea, India,Hongkong and others

We booked our room 2 months in advance, when we got there they said they had no rooms. There were no open hostels anywhere, so they gave us their neices apartment to stay in. It was in the oldest run down building in the world. The women who was there was very helpful but Raul was quite unpleasent to talk to or deal with considering it was their screw up. It is cheap and you get what you pay for. I have stayed in worse, but beware they may screw you over on your pre-booked room.

At first when I arrived, I was a bit skeptical staying, but after my first night, I was impressed. The owners are really friendly, and I met some really nice foreigners here too from all over the world (Japan, UK, Singapore). It's really cheap and has a really convenient location (one station away from the main station). I had a single room for $20USD ($600NT) and the hostel had everything I needed. Restroom, shower, kitchen area, computers with internet, TV... If I go back to Taiwan, and need a

Was allocated a so-called "apartment" by the owners as the rooms in the actual hostel was fully booked for the night. The apartment is located in a very run-down building with no lights along the corridor. The only good thing is that it is with an attached bathroom. Not recommended, even for budget travellers.

It was a nice place, with very friendly and helpful host. Just a note : Taiwanmex has 2 buildings, building one and building two, commonly known as level 2 and level 9 respectively. There is a cat in 'level 9', and the shower rooms (they are those portable type) are in the balcony. Those who do not like either of them, do tell them you want 'level 2'.
