It can be a good place but the owner doesn't always consider reservations made by internet and he can get you into troubles !!!!

I'll go straight into my conclusion: I never, never recommend this hostel to anyone except those who are traveling alone and does not care whatever poor human condition there may be. They never clean your stuff, even the bed sheets during your stay. I got severe nettle rash from the hostel which bothered me during whole trip in Japan and even now. Worst, you may not be able get your room even if you make a reservation, and this was my case. When I arrived at the hostel, they said there wer

the place was so horrible. I booked 5 person mied room, but more than 10 people stay in one place. it's so tiny and so hot (I changed the room next day, there is no air con). the horrible thing is that when I wake up next morning, i was bitten by flea and bed bugs everywhere... I went to Tokyo for travelling so many times, about 3 times a year. i've ever stay other place in Tokyo, but JGH is the worst place I ve ever met . it's so scaring... I never never go there again. and dont r

When they say this hostel is tiny they mean it. Your room is literally just a bed, so be warned. Also you can hear everyone because the "walls" are really thin and don't have a covering on the top. This all would have been fine except that every time I returned to the hostel I would get start sneezing like I was allergic to it because every time I left again I would feel better almost immediately. Oh, and there are only like 3 showers....anyway, it was alright but for someone like me it was kind

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOSTEL. Mark my words or youll regret later. The conditions at this hostel are unbelievable... ive stayed at pretty decent hostels at kyoto and fukoka but coming to JGH tokyo Im surprised that such low standard places are allowed to exist in japan. It is very crowded, makeshift plywood walls have been erected splitting each room into two. even the faintest whisper is heard by your neighbours. ventilation is non existent. They are fleecing the costumers . You have to pay extra

A small, very very small place (I couldn't lay down entirely) with a very small common room. Not so cheap and the manager try to get money by all the possible ways (internet, gas, etc ...). Moreover, there is a big problem with insects in th beds everynight, so be careful. For the same price or a little higher, I already tried really better hostels in Tokyo.

I will say, don't go there even if you are very very poor... It is too dirty, bugs in the sheets, and it is not a real hotel.

This hostel is more like a bed and breakfast without the breakfast; it is a part of someone's home. If you have not already figured this out then you should realize that almost all rooms in Japan are small. There is 35 million people in Tokyo, so you have to cram people into small places to fit them all. I used this hostel to sleep as I was only in Tokyo to catch my flight home. The staff are the family members and they are really nice, although only the head of the household speaks English. The
