You go to this hostel for it's excellent location for visiting old jeruzalem, just perfect! The rooms were a bit small and the bathroom was shabby, but still good value for money. Bram, from Netherlands ~ 31st Mar 2013

I had a very bad stay at Jaffa Hostel. I was in a single room where I payd more than 40€ per night BUT the room was dirty and literally full of mold (specially the toilet. And regarding the toilet, it was not properly enclosed (because the wall didn´t arrive till the ceiling so just try to imagine the smell spreading itself in the room). Then I asked for the heating and they told me I had to pay around 10 € to have a very little electric radiator. Not suggestable!! Marco, from Italy ~ 5th Feb 2013

Very happy with my stay here. Only two negatives, no wireless internet in my room, and no heat, although that didn`t matter much to me, it wasn`t that cool at night. The location was great for the hostel-right inside Jaffa Gate.However, the cleanliness left something to be desired.There was an open hole with water in the bathroom floor where the grate had broken off.Also, the bathroom smelled horrible.We had an attached bathroom, so if you did not keep the door between the bathroom and bedroom closed, the bedroom would also smell.There is not a real AC in the room-it was a fan contraption that did not seem to do anything besides circulate air. Those who aren't comfortable with a hostel experience in Yisrael will probably not be happy here. Our king sized bed had two sheets running cross ways for our top sheet and an unbound section of fabric for our bedspread, and the bugs were pretty bad. Sleep in long johns and socks and you'll be fine. :) Very friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably clean (for a hostel). Great location in the old city down a corridor just across from David's tower.
